Patterns

I'm just going to put this here.... Jenna doesn't care what these people have to say...blocked. The "recreational offended".
I'd like to see how long it takes before she does care. Of course I recognize this as a pattern.

  1. I like "the recreationally offended," and it's better than her usual hackneyed crap. I also sent her another comment tonight, and that might've prompted her pathetic tweet. Clearly, she cares, or it wouldn't even be mentioned online.

  2. lol! She makes this announcement nearly every week and then sits back and waits for praise like a three year old. I googled the term "recreationally offended" and part way down on page one of search results look who pops up!

Psst!...Jenna, you've become a bit of a broken record. Stay tuned for another round of jokes about gummy vitamins and her broke roommates without cars.

Honestly, has any of these 30 something hipster ever heard of working a second job or selling something or doing whatever to fund their dreams??? I just about spit out my coffee when I read the last line. Responsible adults anyone? I need a loan too, cuz I'm bogged down with adult responsibility!!!

My husband abd I have an organic, rotational grazing beef herd that we've paid fit in cash. We both have off the farm jobs to fund our dream. I want to buy an apple orchard in the future so what am I doing? Working at an apple orchard on the weekends! I literally go from my 630-5pm job to the farm and then on the weekends to the orchard. I'm not begging funds off of anyone because I know that any worthwhile dream needs hard work out in behind it. Snowflakes sense of entitlement really chaps my ass.

It's shameful. If you can't afford try to be creative then that is your own problem. Dig deep and get a second job for awhile. Set aside $10,000 from that second job and that's your answer.
You are far from creative if you can't figure that shit out for yourself.

  17. This is a copy and paste from her Facebook Timeline. Apparently, we're not the only ones who are tired of the constant scamming:

Erin Abler: Wouldn't it have been better to get a bank loan for a newer vehicle with no issues than a kiva loan that you still haven't paid off on a piece of shit truck that has more in repairs than what it's worth?

Erin Abler: And what does it say about me? I stopped reading her blog after the ridiculous amount of begging and zero new content. I just so happened to not "unlike" her Facebook page. Nothing's changed on her end. Still begging for money like a street person instead of getting a job to fund her dream herself.

Erin Abler: You think loving a truck is enough to pay its bills? A feeling about an object isn't worth anything when you constantly have to beg for your income.

  21. There have been comments about that in the past. She posted a few times and then stopped. As far as I've heard in the conversation no refunds were given. Notably, there was a young girl that paid her own money to join. Her grandmother told the story. Meredith spearheaded a fundraiser to get this girl her money back. The collected money was donated per the grandmother's request.

  22. There is just NO way in heck that she doesn't have a smart phone. She claims that her laptop is still broken and all she has is the dialup old mac. Yet, if you look at her social media posts for any given day, good god, that girl is prolific... tweets and retweets on the 28th number 16... add in quite a few for facebook, comments, reddit, blog and so on, and it doesn't take a brain surgeon to think she either doesn't do a lick of work around her "farm" because she is standing at her computer constantly, or she's just lying and has a smart phone or whatever. It's just stunning. I don't think I've every met a 'farmer' that has that much social media presence. And she hasn't put out one single decent bit of content in years! Just over and over about how wonderful and scary her life is, back and forth depending on the cash flow situation. Just simply amazing.

    2. Kindle, Nook and any other e-book reader requires a wi-fi connection or hot spot to connect. I cannot retrieve books I have downloaded on either without a connection. My connection is a router with high speed DSL. Since she has a landline, she may have a router, but she does not have a high speed connection. She has stated time and again that her connection is really really slow. I doubt she would have good connectivity with her set-up and if she did her mac would slow down considerably if she could indeed also use her connection for her e-book reader. With my own eyes this past spring I saw her texting on a smart phone. She was standing up against the tailgate of her truck with both thumbs moving or near a keyboard on a smart phone sized piece of technology. She arrived at the swap by herself and left by herself. Unless she borrowed someone's smart phone to use while she stood around at an event, it was hers. I wish I would have thought of snapping a photo of it. Maybe next time..

    1. You really can't support yourself and a pony and 2 dogs on 6 1/2 acres of mortgaged land. Not having a job is killing her dream. If she had spent more years working, saving some money, building a free lance design job, making soap, anything at all to bring in income before she quit her job, she might be scraping by. We have too many "motivational" people running around the country telling people they can live their dreams if they just believe hard enough. While you have to believe in your dreams, you really have to be willing to work hard enough to get it. And accept reality, and do some math. Easy for me to say, I worked 45 years and now have a decent retirement, not enough money to buy an $8K horse or pony, but enough to take care of 1 horse, 2 dogs, and a good car that is very reliable transportation. Oh, and I have health, dental and vision insurances. But, I'm the scary hater, and JW thinks she's qualified to write a motivational book based on her and her pony.

    2. Yeah, you make some good points Redhorse. When Jenna encourages people to throw caution to the wind and chase their dreams she doesn't take into account that not everyone has three thousand Facebook friends to guilt into paying their bills for them. Sure, follow your dreams-- but wisely-- or it may end up being your worst nightmare.

She did not save for years and years to buy a house/farm ! She cheated and lied to a bank then bought a pony and a second pony . Then Quit her JOB . Game Over.

    4. What is there to do before winter, really? There's no need for her to heat with wood, she has central heating with an oil furnace, all she has to do is call the propane delivery service. She buys her hay six bales at a time year round, so no big deal there. If she has storm windows, she could slap them in, but that's hardly a big time commitment. She doesn't preserve, dry or can any food, she gets pretty much everything at the store (or a local restaurant) like anybody else. She could have her vehicle du jour checked for antifreeze levels and have snow tires (if she has any, doubtful) put on. Just the same stuff that every other person living north of the Mason-Dixon line has to do.

In her case, prepping for winter means putting away the hammock and begging.

  25. Today's post about fall. I don't see why she doesn't get her winter wood over the summer get it stacked have it ready and paid for. By now she has to know that fall comes the same freaking time every year why is it always a struggle. Why is it always so expensive? Why can she not see that she is an incompetent farmer that just needs to give up? Soooo many questions!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Most farmers, and/or homesteaders know where they are going to get their wood long before the current season. Most know where they will get it the previous winter. Farm prep on larger farms means checking that outbuildings and barns are draft free, fence fixing done in the spring, or early summer and hay put up. We put up two big barns full of hay each summer along with a silo full of green chop grain mix and bins and corn cribs full of corn and soybeans. Everything electric is checked as the year goes on. Anything that might freeze is fixed or maintained for water. My Dad had a heater in his water tanks that he checked and re-checked throughout the year. There really is no such thing as winter prep on a real farm as you are essentially doing it year round. Although you will do a couple of things prior to the first snow, like my grandpa used to make sure the skid steer was in working order for snow plowing. JW has a pony, two dogs, a couple of goats and loose chickens and ducks. Oh, and a couple of pigs. She could fix or build a barn or outbuilding to house all of them. But she hasn't and she won't. According to her blog her chickens fly free along with the ducks, she photographs her pigs in a snow bank being throw hay throughout the winter, Merlin stands outside ALL WINTER, and the goats have a small pen they stand in and are able to go in and out of a small barn like shed. The sheep have a small hut open to the elements. If you've ever visited her place you will see hay everywhere. Fresh hay covers up sh*t everywhere. Fresh hay is added to soiled hay, because she doesn't muck stalls or pens. I believe Miriam and her crew come and muck stalls in the spring for her. If she doesn't go pick up hay, it's dropped off for her at her doorstep. She breaks the ice on all waterers. She hauls pails of water apparently throughout the year. You usually can find her at the brewery in the winter. She drives very little during this time, but is a regular at the brewery. Winter prep=$ to do things while hunkered down on my 6 acres. They'll be game night, expensive booze, WOW and Netflix binges, good eat, warm kilts and $300.00 jeans to wear. She'll also need $ to feed the heathen clan as they gather routinely for a horn of mead. Winter prep=help me with the mortgage payment, buy me cords of wood and stack it. The winter prep is for her, not CAF or its props. They get ignored just like any other time of the year. Instead of improving on CAF over the years, it looks essentially the same as it did on move in date. Though quite a bit more scrappy you know.

So, as I understand it, falconry is a huge time commitment. So is her exercise schedule of running several hours a day, yoga and more. And then there's her TV time. How many farmers do you know that have recently binge-watched all four seasons of Orange Is The New Black right in the middle of summer? The thought of her sitting in front of a screen, glassy-eyed and, who knows, possibly even drooling on a beautiful day, somehow ingesting more TV than any human in existence all while pretending to be a farmer is just...I can't even.

Other than bagging funds gathered by the hard work of other people, can't recall a single animal(I've read about) that she's put on her table as result of hunting, with or without a stolen hawk buddy.

Yeah, we know she really does like "eating animals" and movies. And she owns (or did, until sold for feed or Netflix?) a spinning wheel - and probably "taught" spinning for 30 mins at a workshop or two or four in the olden days - but "a spinner"????

Oh, but I forgot: She only talks about a tiny bit about her real life on her blog; surely she's been busy putting up produce, spinning her very own wool and crafting cozy garments to sell, making soap and cheese like crazy all summer, but she's been so busy with all of that plus training and binge-watching she hasn't had a moment to show any of the fruits of her farm labors on the blog.

Shit even I'm taking advantage of the long weekend to pick up and stack my firewood and we barely do winter in SoCal.

If all JW does is make a phone call that doesn't take more than 5 minutes, and there'll still be time to ride and float the river. Wonder whose going to stack it for her?

So with Jenna, I've felt that there would be plenty of natural consequences from the life she leads. Yet...I don't see it. 1. Her consequences are that she has a non-existent relationship with her family, no spouse or even a significant other (that we know of, but with the way she likes to show off I'm sure she would be crowing about it), few friends, and an unsustainable lifestyle. She can tell herself those things don't matter over and over, but the older you get the more you realize it's the human relationships you have that matter and make life whole. She's staring 40 down and has a very lonely future ahead of her.

  53. A bit off topic, but I just got the bright idea to go to Glens Falls NY Craigslist. I found no fewer than eight listings for wood under the Free category. Now that her truck is running, there is NOTHING preventing her from picking up some wood for winter. For free. That's how I get a lot of my wood. Granted, some of it is not suitable for indoor burning, but there is plenty that is.

    1. JW has purchased over the years quite a few saddles. She sold one unused bareback trail saddle for $50.00 in 2012 to help her with winter prep. She purchased a barrel racing saddle at a poultry swap in 2012. She purchased an English saddle though she now rides Western and sold that for winter prep 2013 or 2014. She rode English and had a special saddle in 2012 when she took English riding lessons. It would not surprise me in the least if she has a dozen saddles of various quality. Snowflake makes mention of something, snowflake collects something in her mailbox. Snowflake is happy, but often too busy playing to say thank you. I mean come on, I have cousins in Scotland who at most have 2 kilts and they actually attend events were kilts are required. JW has eight kilts and probably has worn the same one over and over again. Once she posted a picture of a kilt from a very expensive site- kilt cost- $525 plus shipping. My cousins probably spend no more than $100.00 on one and have had them for probably 15 or more years. But then again they work hard raising sheep and beef cattle, no time for fashion shows.

Farm life isn't disgusting, but only showering once a week when you live on a farm and sleep naked beside a dog in bed- ya... pretty gross. I wonder what Huffington Post or Anna K. would think of that scenario. I think JW spouts off a lot because she is really really worried about what others are saying about her. I think her self consciousness is eating her up. If you don't inform the world of all your private business (or at she proclaims just a peek into her life) and you don't steal $ from people by making empty promises then no one would ever invade your privacy or talk about your thievery and shamming on not one but three websites.

She thinks anyone that isn't living her life on a whim is a loser. She thinks anyone who disagrees with her is a hater. With all the judging she does, and name calling and labeling she should never be offended by what any lil antler or hater says. That sad I draw the line at appearance. 72. I am totally okay with worn out, broke down, dilapidated furniture. Lord knows I had a house full of it for a very long time. But one of the crowning glories of having a job and becoming an adult was, for me at least, buying a brand new couch. It was like I had arrived.

But, I digress. Even my old, polyester neon orange, dumpster dive couch was clean. It did not have poop on it of any kind. I cleaned that thing to within an inch of its life. I hated it sure! It was ugly as hell and not terribly comfortable. The fabric was scratchy and the color was garish, but it was clean.

What about owning a chair covered in any kind of shit is supposed to engender awe in a reader?

Owning a crappy chair and being okay with that because you've made financial choices that you're okay with? Cool.

Bringing an outdoor animal that was really made to be free into your house and letting it shit all over your furniture? Not cool.

But it takes some kind of crazy to try to tell me that I should envy a life that results in shit covered furniture. It takes some kind of crazy to try and tell me that showering daily rather than bi-weekly or once a week (and changing my sheets!) after working in shit and mud and who knows what else makes me less than.

On a side note: Is anyone else TIRED of seeing that same lame corner of her house? Every stupid picture of her house is of that same stupid corner with the same stupid props. Where's the kitchen? The bedroom? Where the pictures of the shit soaked chair?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yeah, I'd also be interested in the rest of the house. Bedroom, no. But the kitchen/living room/back porch. I dunno. I probably wouldn't post pics of my house plan on the net, but then again I don't even post pics of myself on the internet anywhere! I'm just curious, since she puts her life out there, what the rest of the place looks like.

Aside from being curious about the inside of the house, which is sort of beside the point other than if she had a pantry full of food put up, I really think she owes readers pics of the farm. There have been no recent pics of the farm as far as I can tell. None of the inside of the barn, the pasture, the chicken coop/shed. None of the garden, the wood shed/pile. None of the front of the house (which I think is where she stacks her wood.) Incidentally, I would never stack wood against my house or any other wooden structure. Think: termites (which we don't have here), or carpenter ants, mice. They all love a woodpile.

So, yeah? Where's the pics of the "farm" JW? So many people have donated to it, don't you owe it to them to show them?

    2. I'm guessing that the farm is in such rough shape she doesn't want to pics of it. Just like the other parts of her house. They are probably beyond disgusting and she doesn't want anyone hotlining her with the health department or animal control.

  73. Has anyone else noticed that the tenor of the comments here has gotten really mean lately?

Maybe it's a reflection of what's happening in Jenna-Land. I sense a kind of unraveling over there--lots of tweets and FB posts which are nonsensical or poorly written. On Twitter, she's doing all she can to get celebrity attention. It's like she's lost the thread of her story. So maybe we've lost the thread of our story here, which is that Jenna has scammed most of us and we're trying to keep others from being scammed.

So what's with the name-calling and fat-shaming? You think she deserves it? Nobody deserves it.

People are asking how Jenna could have paid for truck repairs--which one of her followers coughed up the dough? But isn't this a woman who recently won $2000? I admit when I saw her post about the truck needing repairs, I thought, 'Wait for it ...' But as far as I can recall she didn't out and out ask for money (yes, it's possible she was hinting around), maybe because she has money right now. But a lot posters here seem scandalized that she was able to make the payment. Yet if she didn't try to scam you or me or anyone else out of the money, why would we care? Because she should have put that money toward publishing Birchthorn rather than repairing her truck? Maybe ...

I understand that Jenna is frustrating, to say the least. It's always interesting to see how she's identifying herself one week to the next--feminist, runner, farmer, falconer--and how she never really fully enters into her any of her identities. Saying you're a farmer doesn't make you a farmer. But for real farmers, it must be maddening to hear Jenna claim that occupation when on the face of it it doesn't seem like she farms much at all.

So yep, Jenna can make you crazy. To me, the craziest thing is how much she's squandered. She's squandered her own money, other people's money, and a ton of good faith from strangers who wanted to support her. Sadly, I believe she's squandered her talent as a writer as well. I've always said that Jenna is really talented, but lately I've been a bit flabbergasted by what she's putting out there, particularly that piece about riding Merlin.

But given all that, if the point of this blog is to document ways Jenna has scammed people and isn't who she says she is, I think lately the point has been lost. If I were new to the blog and only read this most recent entry and its comments, I'd think Jenna was the victim here and those of us who comment were just here for the sport of gossip and slander. It's definitely starting to feel that way.

Your post is a good reminder to keep it to ourselves unless there is a specific scam going on. We need to remember that the purpose of this blog is to warn other people. Anything else is diluting the message.

    2. I know this is really out there, but has anyone ever thought that JW makes these far out comments and statements so everyone on blogs like these go off track? I've noticed just in the last 18 months that more and more JW is saying things off the beaten path/track that cause some here and elsewhere to go off on a tangent and far away from the reality of just exactly why blogs like this are created.

I know it may sound like a long shot, but if the point of something is constantly being set aside to comment on the peculiar things she is broadcasting- maybe that is her whole purpose for doing what she is doing. Also has anyone else ever felt that a comment or two here, that seems especially mean or critical or "off", may be JW commenting here as an anonymous to incite others to join her and make this a mean girl thread?

I agree in this blog's purpose of warning, reporting and posting patterns. Nit-picking, or personal comments of appearance or her personal tastes or comments made toward something she has said to get a reaction take away from the seriousness of what she has done to some of us, and to others and will continue to do in the future.

  74. All right, class. Let's review. (In best teacherly voice):

Whose versus who's: An easy way to remember this is to replace "who is" in the sentence and see if it works. If so, it's "who's." If not, it's "whose" (possessive). Got that JW?

Question mark. "A mark (?) used in writing and printing at the conclusion of a sentence to indicate a direct question."

End-of-sentence punctuation. "While the punctuation in the middle of the sentence is extremely important, it’s the punctuation at the end of the sentence that makes or breaks the writing: if the end punctuation is incorrect, the whole sentence can be incomprehensible."

Spelling 101: Virtually every program has spellcheck.

That's enough for one day. Take notes. There will be a quiz.

  75. I hear what you're saying and agree with what you've written. Thinking of my own recent entries, and Jenna's, my reactions to her are coming from not only the recent months of watching - in horror and dismay - her staying atop of and winning the Beekman fan challenge money - but continued disgust over the increasingly obnoxious, tedious, self-serving, clueless nature of her public writing.

My near abhorrence for her only grows, and I suspect that is true of many of us. I can see how it might, in some, remove all constraints about what aspects of jw are either useful or appropriate to make fun of and criticize. He whole persona - and person - can easily become a target of our outrage and feelings of distaste.

Everything she has put out in the past months (or years) ratchets up my negative reaction and increases my visceral dislike for everything about her by leaps and bounds.

I myself am not critical of either her appearance or her housekeeping and so would not include references to either in my comments - but I'm not only dismayed to see them here, I'm dismayed to take note of the strength of my feelings of contempt and disgust as I watch myself spend precious time, driven to share them here.

Once one's blinders fall off, she tends to bring out the worst sort of emotional response in people who are shocked by her hypocrisy and ethics and affronted by her sheer chutzpah.

Wish (for the 50th time) I/we? could all just turn our backs on her "offerings" and deny her the attention she craves - even the negative response she also uses to bolster her choices and pride in her lifestyle.

Saying that Jennas house and outside farm are probably so disgusting she doesn't want to post pictures of them is not mean. It is the truth. If you gave her money, you're never going to get it back. I don't think Jenna is going to go down in flames the way many folks hope she does. And I think the negativity that flares up on this blog (comments about Jenna's weight, for instance) actually keeps her going in some way. All she has to do to get some FB love is talk about the haters over here.

I write this as someone who finds Jenna unfathomable and really, really sad, and yes, she drives me crazy. But I don't hate her or let her get to me (and yes, I have been ripped off by her). I find all of this--Jenna's bizarre and increasing incoherent storytelling along with our responses to it--fascinating. But I think if I despised Jenna so much that I felt the need for emotional release, I might get off the train.

I really am curious--why do you stick around? Why keep watching the Jenna Show if it's making you miserable?

So I'm not saying this blog doesn't have a purpose. But complaining about Jenna's actions (particularly if you funded Birchthorn or the wool CSA and you see Jenna spending money on a new device or dog or whatever) or pointing out her inconsistencies and negative patterns is different from speculating about her love life or fat-shaming or name-calling. 1. She has no "love life," so there's nothing to share. If she met a hipster heathen, however, everyone would hear the dirty details.

    2. That's what I thought too. How can you share something that doesn't exist.

  79. Here's a link to the house listing pre-Jenna with photos of all the rooms. Cute house.

    1. She could have really done something with it and truely made it a real farm. There are so many opportunities to make a living from that place. She is blowing it. Such a shame.

  80. I KNEW IT.

Silently, to myself, I "called it" weeks ago. I knew she wouldn't follow through with this half marathon thing, because she never, ever follows through with anything once the shine wears off. And now, 7 days before she's supposed to run, she claims she's hurt herself. I was absolutely waiting for this. It makes me sad.

    1. She definitely reads this blog. She responded to someone yesterday posting about her misuse of whose. Then someone posted about how her running fascination only lasted about a week. I guess she felt the need to address that too. Spin the wheel of excuses!

    2. I read it I laughed and now I own a friend 5 bucks as I said she would fall off the horse and get hurt She bet me that it would be a trip or fall and she won

    3. Where does it say that she hurt herself? I didn't see it on her social media accounts. And I'm sure that it's just another excuse. What a waste of those pricey running shoes.

    4. Posted to Jw's Facebook 9-2-16.

I stepped in a hole Friday dug, twisted my ankle, fell down, and got the wind knocked out of me a few days ago. My ankle still hurts. I am supposed to run a half marathon in 7 days...

    5. It will probably be her answer to the question asking why she doesn't use the timber on her property for firewood. Even though she made it clear pre injury that she would be outsourcing for firewood. That injury will cover a myriad of questions. Why she is watching so much TV when she should be busy prepping for winter, why she's online so much, etc. Hopefully it saves a hawk from being captured by her too.

    6. Thanks, Hound Doggy, for answering my question. And I also appreciate the public service of this site, too.

    7. I knew it, too. I was just waiting for the injury/disaster that would prevent her from running that marathon. Maybe she could sell those $150 running shoes on CL for half price. Would pay a bill.

    8. Interesting that the injury didn't keep her from hawking.

Clearly it's an excuse to get out of the marathon. She lost interest after a week of training. That's her M.O. with everything- no follow through.Everything that comes out of that little girl's mouth is a lie.

  82. I'm taking bets on how long it takes her to post that she's scared, the wolves are at her door, or her utilities will be shut off. I say within the next seven days while she is "injured."

  83. It's no surprise that this stupid tweet has no "likes," or response from Chelsea Handler.

I so want to take @chelseahandler out hawking. I think Falconry would suit that badass.

  84. Anonymous Aug 31 3:36 posted about that Chelsea Handler Hawking tweet. I hope Jenna's "injury" prevents her from trapping a hawk. If it doesn't, I would say that Snowflake isn't really injured just trying to get out of the marathon in 7 days without having to answer questions about it.

    1. I didn't know that it had already been posted, thanks. There are so many comments now, that it's difficult to try and track them.

    2. I saw her on Saturday in Salem. She wasn't limping, so it can't be that bad.

    3. Where in Salem did you see her? I'm guessing that she was gassing up at Stewart's. We haven't had a sighting in awhile.

  85. Wow, no tweets from Snowflake yet today. Must be some sort of record. Maybe she is getting the hint when she is constantly ignored on Twitter.
