Jenna Woginrich Wool Scam 2016. We've been here before!

Copied from Cold Antler Farm blog September 26, 2016. I have several lambs already sold and being butchered in a few weeks. The meat is called for, but the fleeces (tanned hides with the wool on them) are available for $200 to anyone interested in buying one or several. They will be skinned after being slaughtered and the skins cooled, salted, and prepped to to be shipped to a tannery in Pennsylvania. It takes up to six months to get the fleeces back but when they arrive I will ship them to those who buy them. If you are interested please email me at dogsinourparks@gmail.com

  1. **WARNING**

Cold Antler Farm fleeces for sale. Be advised that Jenna Woginrich has sold fleece in the past, accepted payment for the fleece and never delivered the fleece to the buyers.

If Jenna Woginrich takes your money for something she promises to deliver in six months, you WILL NOT receive the promised product. Jenna Woginrich has a well-deserved reputation of being a scammer, a thief and a liar.

Please do some online research regarding Jenna Woginrich and her poor business practices. The email address associated with her latest scams is :

    dogsinourparks@gmail.com

Per Jenna Woginrich's M.O. this email address will eventually change to a new name after she uses it to successfully rip people off.

FYI: All "purchases" from Jenna Woginrich are actually disguised as "donations" when you pay her via PayPal. This is because Jenna Woginrich wants to avoid paying taxes on her business income. Yet another part of the Jenna Woginrich scheme.

    1. Yep. The gift tax (would I assume a "donation" would be considered a gift) is up to $14,000 per year, as of 2016. Therefore if you pay with the "donate" button, you are giving her a gift. I'm not sure how that would work if you actually receive goods/services in return, though. Then it might be considered income.

    2. It might be considered income even if you "donated". I meant to say.

      Delete
    3. Ack. Not typing straight. The gift amount that a recipient can receive per year is up to $14,000 per year. Above that amount, it is taxed.

      Delete
    4. Technically as of now Gofundme $ is not taxed-it's a gift from donors. However, if people pay you through a donate button you are required to send back to them the service you rendered, name of organization, amount donated, and date.

correction- non-profit or people pretending to be non-profits or charities do not need to send the fair value. I was typing too fast. When the donor goes to file taxes they must reduce the amount of the contribution deduction and this often puts the kabosh on discounted services that a donor has donated to. The discounted price is less than the fair market value.

      Delete
    5. I am really not sure what you are trying to say. "reduce the amount of the contribution deduction and this often puts the kabosh on discounted services that a donor has donateed to" Huh?

If she uses a donate button and claims that money as "gifts" none of what you are saying applies,I think. It's a straight "gift" allowed up to $14,000 per the IRS.

  2. More wool scams..... She has several lambs being butchered in a few weeks.

In other words... Winter prep is on! Pony up, Lil Antlers, and pay ahead for fleeces that will never be delivered! Total price UPFRONT, forget that silly deposit for goods thing. For $200 apiece you too can buy me firewood!

  3. I don't believe they are called fleeces when they have skin on them. They are sheepskins. Fleeces are the shorn wool off the LIVE animal...

    Just saying.

    1. Maybe her post was a slip of the Freudian tongue for she has quite literally fleeced hundreds of people over the years, starting with the first time she fleeced wool buyers some years back.

You are right though- sheepskins are the wool after death, fleece is what the wool is called after being shorn.

    2. It's just more evidence that she doesn't know even the basics of what she's doing.
Do y'all remember years ago when she was using the terms hay and straw interchangeably?

    3. Yeah, I raise sheep and Angora goats and her knowledge of correct terms just makes me want to throw up a little bit in my mouth. SMH... She is such a huckster. $200 for a mixed breed carpet wool sheepskin??? Honestly... buyer beware, google before blowing your hard earned poodle cash!!!

    4. Skins of livestock are called hides until you do something with them, like tanning.

Yep lack of basic terms and knowledge. Not much of an advance of knowledge for 10 years.

  5. Years and years ago I used to help friends tan deer hides. It is work, but doing it yourself saves a lot of $ and takes half the time. If you can get someone to do it for you for the same price it costs you, and get them back in a month or two, I'd probably let someone else do it. However at $200.00 and a 6 month wait? That's just plain scamming. Not to mention having to prepay for everything done via CAF/JW PayPal. But, I digree we now know that people do not expect anything for their $, just send cash and remember to hit the donate button.
The first part of the process is that the sheep are butchered. I'm assuming by someone JW knows. Evidently she had sheep shares vs. selling the previously spoken about Monday, wether, lamb rams and two she got from Patty. So- she received $ for sheep shares of which I remember no online advertising for. I'm also assuming that once butchered the skins salting and pre-processing and shipping will be in JW's hands.

Based on her lack of ambition and follow through who believes they will ever be salted/pre-processed correctly and shipped by JW? Buck Country Fur Products (Pennsylvania) pricing- sheepskins are $20.00- $100.00 for processing, cleaning and combing (all depends on size of skin/length of wool what you will be charged). I emailed them and I'm waiting for a response regarding processing time. I also asked them if they could tell me if their practices/prices were fairly common for sheepskin processing. Other sites I checked out had prices the same and lower than. The whole "fleeces for sale" sounds like a ruse.

Yes, but Snowflake is allergic to work.

    2. Some of my posts disappeared thanks to blogger. I contacted Bucks County in Pennsylvania about turnaround time on sheepskins. I also asked them if their turnaround time was average for fur processors in their area/ region/state of Pennsylvania. Their turnaround time is 12 weeks, for larger skins and a larger order (35-50) 16 weeks. Their turnaround time is standard time for processing and they didn't know of anyone that took longer. You can speed the process up for an additional fee ($5-10.00 a skin).

So realistically a handful of skins could be processed, cleaned and combed for $20-$100 and take, since her order is so small, 2 months tops.

Yet, she's charging $200.00 and it's going to take 6 months. Unheard of. As I stated I truly believe this is another scam. She'll likely sell the skins over and over again. I wonder why she won't tell her potential buyers (donors) how many there are? Or why those buying the meat don't want the wool or sheepskin? Odd.

      Delete
    3. Bucks Co. has tanned sheepskins for me and they always do a fabulous job. It's a washable tan, so the hide itself is soft and pliable. The turnaround is about 3-4 mos, and it generally costs me about $40-$60 per hide. BUT, it takes several weeks of salting (depending on weather) to get the hides to dry out before they can be sent. Shipping to and from the tannery gets pricey...easily another $40 per hide ($20 there and $20 back).

I sell them on my Etsy shop for roughly $130-$160 depending on the hide. Doubling cost is pretty standard for selling things, and that doesn't count my labor in raising the lamb and salting it.

I've seen nice sheepskins go for way over $200 at festivals and online.

The only issue I'd have with her doing it this way is selling them before they're tanned and back in her possession. Who wants to buy a pricey hide site unseen? She should wait until they're back and then sell them.

    4. But she needs firewood NOW! Not in six months.

  6. Interesting. Her posters on FB are discussing the presidential debates. Crickets from JW, but she's screaming about her guest (family) visit that is coming up. She's totally out of touch.

  7. I just got a double sheepskin (two skins sewn together) of good-to-excellent quality at Costco for 99 bucks on sale. I use them on the couch so my dog has a comfy (but attractive) place on the couch, the couch stays clean, and I can just take the skins off when company comes. No way would I pay 200 bucks for short-staple carpet wool sheep skins. Besides 200 up front for 6 months? No way - it would be Woolgate 2 - skins would not be received, the computer would crash, all records would vaporize when the small aliens used their lasers, or there would simply be total silence from CAF. Spare yourself - buy a fabulous sheepskin from one of the many reputable suppliers around. Its a concept, you pay money, and they immediately ship you a sheepskin.

    1. Jenna Woginrich: I would LOVE to move these fleeces soon! Interested? Message me!

Move them? The sheep are still using them. She means she'd love to see her paypal fill up with orders for a product she won't be delivering on for 6 months + (the sheep are going to be slaughtered in a "few weeks"). This provides plenty of time for people to forget they ever ordered one or for Jenna to lose their info and simply stop replying to emails. And who really believes she's going to set aside the money needed to process them? Not bloody likely. That $200 is going straight back out the minute it comes in.

  8. Oh dear. Snowflake didn't check the weather and now her hay which she carelessly left in the back of the truck is soaked. "Farmers are weather junkies and I forgot to take my pre-sleep hit." Yup, that's right. FARMERS are weather junkies and you're not a farmer.

She has "arranged for three clients' updates" on design work. Arranged for updates? WTF does that mean? She's going to email them and tell them she's not done with their design yet? Pfffttt. And since when did "paying gigs take priority over pony rides"??? Someone has been reading here...

    2. "So much hawking on the mind, and paying gigs takes priority over pony rides."

But hawking takes priority over paying gigs. She logged over twenty hours the first four days of September wandering around Washington Co. hawk trapping.

    3. And considering that she's pretty much buying no more than a couple days worth of hay at a time and not storing it, the soaking won't do it any harm.

    6. I'm in New England and have horses. Hay is GOLD right now -- the region has experienced drought ranging from moderate to severe, depending on your area. Where I live, what used to be a $3-$5 bale is going for $7-10, depending on quality. And expect costs to sky rocket this Winter, when supply and demand really kicks in. Leaving bales in the back of the truck, just WAITING to get wet is ludicrous. I just shake my head...

      Delete
    7. The time it would have taken to throw a tarp over the back of the truck to be on the safe side was a faction of time compared to getting that much hay wet

  10. I wonder if Jenna Woginrich is related to the serial killer Ted Bundy? They have identical "crazy eyes." Jenna's fb profile pic is downright disturbing.

I just love how she wants to "move these fleeces" ASAP. Um, hello, they won't be ready for at least six months. Knowing Jenna, 6 months= never.
She acts as though they are taking up space in her living room or something. Anyone who speaks Snowflake knows that she only wants to fill her bank account ASAP.Jenna doesn't give a rat's ass as to what happens to the actual fleeces/sheep hides.

I can imagine the excuses she will come up with in 6 months.
    1) Sheep got the mange- better luck next year!
    2) Winter tornado- sheep blew away.
    3) Sheep were repossessed by the bank.
    4) The wolves at the door ate them.
    5) Sheep shears broke, had to special order replacement, two year back order.
    5) Sent them to the editor, should be ready any day now.
    6) What sheep?

  11. Additionally keep in mind- I could not find the answer nor could I get a rep to answer me in a timely matter. But I believe you can have different donate buttons. Each donate button could be set to a different email address. I have a personal account with PayPal and have 3 email addresses associated with it due to selling on eBay at one time under 3 different selling accounts. You can associate your personal accounts with your donate buttons so once one was getting near $10,000 you could change the address of your donate button to another one of your email addresses associated with your PayPal account. You could keep doing this for however many email accounts you have associated with your PayPal account. Essentially always changing email accounts out before you're ever questioned by PayPal about what you used the $10,000 for.

This doesn't work to circumvent the $20,000 of reportable income that generates a 1099 if you use the buy it now button. PayPal includes all your personal email accounts associated with that button and if the transactions total $20,000 or 200 transactions you get a 1099.

Another reason that may explain why she is always changing email accounts when she asks you to send money. In just the last 2 years I can recall 4 accounts being used when she has solicited sales for logos and donations to save the "farm."

  17. Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "Jenna Woginrich Wool Scam 2016. We've been here b...":

Weird I see my text and the number count goes up and for 5, sometimes 10 minutes it will show. Then when I come back to post a reply or just read it's no longer there. It's been happening for almost 3 weeks now. My short 3 line posts always stay, it's just my 2-3 paragraph ones that go poof!

This is one of them I copied and posted:

For several years now she has had an income goal. I have seen it written on her blog several times that she has or hasn't met it. I've seen her meet $3000 in a weekend and also watched her aim for $1000 in a day and not met it. I had it figured out a long time ago before the GoFundMe and Kickstarter. She makes roughly 900.00/mo. from sponsors of her blog. 2016 it looks like WITHOUT adding in pig shares, chicken shares, or sheep shares. WITHOUT adding in save the farm donations or buy my hat donations or pay this or that bill donation or purchase drawings or future workshops or take fiddle lessons or blog donations for her blogging- she has made roughly $2525.00 thus far. She makes 900.00 a month from her 31 sponsors/ads on blog. She won a $1000 from Beekman and $3508 from her GoFundMe divided into 12 months this gives her an extra $375/mo. She probably solicits an average of 5 prepaid logos a month at $250.00 a piece, if you are willing to wait 2-3 months, which equals roughly $1250 a month. Total adds up to -$2525/mo.

If you add in all the things I didn't add in- my best guess is $4500/mo.

So in essence for sitting online and playing around and soliciting prepaid logos she then has 2-3 months before she has to begin working on said prepaid logos. In the meantime, all she has to do for the ones she is currently working on is delay or create a crisis and the customer will wait. After all they are committed to it, they already paid in full for it.

No work for the Going Postal GoFundMe just one of her stories to fan the flames of save me and my farm. No work for Beekman except to get on FB every once and awhile and encourage her poodles to vote to save her and her farm.

Advertisers pay a year in advance and why wouldn't they. Imagine all the page views and clicks she must get from people who despise her or can't resist her train wreck drama. Each blog read and page view confirms to the sponsor that her blog is popular enough to pay 3-400/year to advertise on. All Jenna has to do is float down the Battenkill River everyday hair extensions blowing in the breeze and kaching!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. There is no Birchthorn. In her campaign she promised hardcovers all pretty with special binding and paper- she defaulted on that.

She promised it would be done over a year ago- she defaulted on that. She promised for higher donations from backers it would entitle them to Antlerstock, and other workshops and she defaulted on that. No workshops this year at all.

She said the reason it was taking so long and that she had run over was she'd never written fiction before, but she had because she released Birchthorn on a special blog years ago. She first claimed novel, now its a novella. The book was basically written when she started her campaign. So another lie. She claimed to be self-publishing yet now it's with a "publisher" and she won't be sharing anymore updates. It's in their hands now. The best any of the backers can hope for is an e-book someday down the line when Jenna needs a new truck. She'll crank out this long anticipated by some e-book and people will open up their pockets.

Birchthorn died when the she withdrew her PayPal balance to her bank. Her fear, her self doubt- it's all an act. You know this right?

      Delete
    2. "The best any of the backers can hope for is an e-book someday down the line when Jenna needs a new truck."

I'm sure she has already "lost" all the emails from backers. She'll ask that everyone contact her, which we all know how that goes.

      Delete
    3. I contacted her through Kickstarter about a refund. You cannot contact her via Kickstarter unless you were a backer. You cannot ask her a question or request a refund via email, because she cannot verify you were a backer. She doesn't have any information about the backers. Either she is not interested in that information (my guess) or she doesn't utilize it. She also doesn't care, remember or plan to uphold any of the different things backers received at different levels of $backing. Everyone gets an e-book, which of course I don't believe anyone will ever see. JMHO

What a lot of people don't get it, she's not invested in any of her donors, backers, patrons, fans or readers. They are simply a conduit to her financial security. She lives in a fantasy realm. When not fantasizing about celebrities she is fantasizing about historical scenes and hobbits and GOT or Outlander characters. She doesn't feel tacky for begging for $ one day and buying wolf eyes the next. That's her reward for entertaining you. In her mind she is performing a service. She rewards herself quite frequently because the money is there and she needs to fill that void. She needs to keep marching forward toward that vision she has for herself. Yet as soon as she gets there- fell pony, kilts and hobbit home on 6 acres, she isn't happy. She wants something more. And on and on living like fantasy for almost a decade funded fully by fans.

      Delete
    4. Your comment really resonated with me, Anon 11:17.

The donors/fans are not "her people". Jenna sees herself as way, way cool. An intellectual. She's even called herself an eccentric (as if). These aren't people she would ever associate with, they're just ATMs to her.

And Jenna is so very empty. A blank slate. A black hole. Does she have any relationships that aren't terribly one-sided? Yeah, she has her "friend" Patty who acts suspiciously like a mother or cheerleader. And so it is with the rest of the other older ladies that make up her squad. They're all there to support her, it's not a relationship of equals. She's totally detached from any kind of care or responsibility to another person. It's all about her, all the time. It's like the celebs are filling in for the real friendships she doesn't have.

      Delete
    5. I feel your comment is spot-on, too, Anon 11:17. She's part of the "entitled" generation. I won't go into how I believe this stems from the corporate commercialization of happiness, but I digress. I think you hit the nail on the head that she does truly believe she is "providing a service" and therefore is entitled to whatever cash people throw at her. The telling mark is the fact that she apparently has NO shame in begging one day, spending (and bragging about it) the next. After all, she was entitled to that money, right?

I also agree with Anon 12:08 that she has no caring relationships in her life. Totally mememememe with her. When you're that self-centered, shallow, and narcissistic I imagine relationships don't last long. We've all seen a dozen or more bridges she's burned in that regard.

    7. Wait...are you saying factually she does not know who donated at what level and kickstarter can't provide that information to her?

All the donor needs to do is screen shot the money amount sent from their account if she claims she doesn't know who donated at what level, these aren't cash transactions.

    1. The anonymous comment made a reference to knowing her in high school- which would be a first for this blog, the last blog and even your blog. We've read comments from people who attended workshops, live in her community and went to college with her. If someone is hanging around that went to high school with her, to my knowledge this is the first they have pointed this out. She was called friendly beast- hmmm, it isn't exactly being picked on to be called friendly. Beast is defined as a four footed dangerous animal, or it is a reference to a superhero character created by Marvel? Also beast in the UK is a reference for someone who does something really well. I find it pretty convenient that for as long as I've read her blog she has referred to herself as a beast. Friendly no. Wolf, beast, bad ass feral this or that yes. If she was really called this in h.s. I would have to say she must have liked it.
The person who commented could have been an old h.s. friend or it could have been JW herself, or it could have been someone trying to throw out mean girl comments to garner sympathy comments or empathetic responses. I would have loved to be called such a cool name in high school. But that's just my opinion. I grew up with a lot of kids that were overweight and none of them were teased. Yes overweight kids get teased, but not all do.

My vote is the comment was from a troll.

  30. Meredith I get where you are coming from. I was made fun of in school too- a lot. Please elaborate if you will what exactly it explains. I'm not perfect, but I've never stolen from anyone and I am tirelessly devoted to my animals. I doubt if I was guilty of animal neglect or abuse, or scamming thousands of $ from people online the courts would give a crap that I was made fun of in school. Not too mention the lives that the people who donate must have had in school or the poor animals who have no voice anywhere in the world.

    1. At the most it explains the constant need for approval and love for people defending her. Things she probably didn't experience in school.

Look, I get it. I struggled in middle school and kids (and sometimes people in general) can be mean and terrible. Reality is that you have to rise above that at some point.

For Jenna, I wonder if all this... All this taking money and needing head pats and hand claps isn't her thinking it's owed to her. That somehow, she is getting what was due her all along. When she's accused of stealing, does she justify it by figuring in her head that she is really just sticking it to those kids that were mean to her once upon a time?

She's missing the point. The best revenge would be to earn an honest living and be successful at what you do honestly. Write that best-seller, become self-sufficient, whatever. But grifting and stealing and living a lie aren't anything to brag about at your high school reunion.

    2. I'm not excusing anything she's done. There is no excuse to neglect animals, responsibilities, paid jobs etc. None at all.

I think everything she does is based on craving acceptance, the need to be included, maybe even try and impress. Everything is a prop to reel people in...she's the main act. Nothing is important to her except her. Everything is a means to an end...that being attention. Not only was she unpopular she was bullied. Life is now one big popularity contest. She can screw people over left and right because actual relationships and her reputation are meaningless. Its all about the moment to moment day to day fix of being acknowledged. Every time someone retweets her, sends her something, comments etc it's like a hit of a drug. The less it has to do with some lame homesteading crap and more to do with her the better.

Everything she does is trying to be unique to draw attention to herself. I homestead, I hawk, I heathen,..but really she's just begging for people to pause and see her. Shit, the last post LITERALLY was for people to look her in the face, to stare at her eyes. She draws people in any way possible.

She likely gets off on all these sham blogs. All these people checking in on her every word, every move, paying close enough attention to pick up inaccuracies.

She's just a big 12 year old that wants to be invited and included and has successfully figured out how manipulate the world around her to get the attention she so desperately craves...seemingly every waking moment.

    3. My theory is not an excuse...there is no excuse.

Earlier this year I took a self proclaimed loner who said her cows were her only friends as a child to court for criminal animal cruelty. I don't give 2 shits about a persons sob story as far as an excuse for inflicting pain and suffering on an innocent being.

Its just an observation...could be completely wrong and she is just a bad apple sociopath narcissist. Either way...no excuse.

    2. Your posts reminds me of this story:
A little bird in Russia refused to join the pack which was flying south for the winter. It refused to listen to its' parents and elders thinking it can tough it out.
Winter came and It was so cold so the bird froze and fell to the ground covered with snow. A cow came by and dropped some dung on the bird. The pile of cow dung warmed the bird and brought it back to life. It lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy.A passing cat heard the bird singing took the bird out of the pile of cow dung, and ate it.

      Morals of the story:
      (1) Don't discount experienced advice of people who care for your success.
      (2) Not everyone who shits on you is your enemy.
      (3) Not everyone who gets you out of shit is your friend.
      (4) And when you're in deep shit, it's best to keep your mouth shut!

  50. Is there a way to post an online review of Cold Antler Farm? Something like Yelp? There should be a way to get the word out.

I would like to tell the people who purchased the sheepskins six months ahead of time that the chances of receiving their product are slim to none. She has already spent the money and when it comes time to process the skins, she will no longer have the money to do so.

This has happened with the wool and webinar CSA and now it is happening with Birchthorn. She has already spent the money and there is no money to print paperbacks and hard copies.

The sad thing is, very few people will take action against her. If they lose $25-$200, they write it off as a bad experience. This is how she gets away with it. She is not held accountable.

I think this is why she continues to get bolder. It's like taking candy from a baby. She just deletes the angry emails until people go away.

It's frustrating watching people getting ripped off and frustrating looking at her smug smirk.
