Why Are We Here?

The original reason for our existence I think was to warn the new followers and the "innocents" of the scammer that is Jenna.  People were stolen from and lied to.  As people told their stories others realized they were not alone.  In my own case...I would question things that she said.  I would say to myself...That doesn't make sense!.....I found great satisfaction that others were saying the same things.

Now, it is not the same.  She does not have a homesteading blog.  If anyone reads her books and comes to the blog to learn more about the farming they will see immediately how it is now.

I'm really not sure where her new people are coming from.

I have thought a great deal about why I am still interested.  I'm not really sure.  I think morbid curiosity has a lot to do with it.  Rubbernecking at a car accident.
There are many many "unhealthy " things that people do in the name of entertainment.  This may be one.  I prefer this over the Housewives of Wherever....but I think it's the same animal.
The joy of all of this is, though, it is what it is.  Nobody needs to justify why they are here...just be here if you want.....or don't...that's fine too.

I need to say one little thing about "fat shaming".  I look at it like in court.  If you make a statement about an issue that "opens the door".  It was...what...yesterday...that JW commented on her fat ass.  Unprovoked.....she said it.  And that was certainly not the first time.  Anything we know....she has told us.  We know her height, weight, clothing sizes, bathroom habits, showering habits, sleeping habits, etc, etc.
You can't have it both ways!  If you want it private....keep it private.  I don't recall any time she has had a conversation about her brother.....private.  See how that works?

But I digress...HA!
I think this is a great place to talk about the crazy.  She has her "people"...her "tribe".....well...we do too.  This is our tribe.
She wants to be a celebrity?  Maybe we are her trial.  Seems to me she can't handle it.

  1. Thank you so much for this forum! As long as Snowflake is scamming, we will be here to call her on it.

    1. Jenna is rude and disgusting. She can not be treated like a lady. She is an unscrupulous panhandler and a liar. That property is not run like any farm that I know of . It's a sick girl and her pony. Her 15 minutes is up.

  2. She wants to be hip and trendy and throw stuff out into the internet that will get her noticed. But, when she doesn't get the response (notice) she is looking for or she has thought better of what she said she runs into "safe space" mode and claims privacy. She has thrown stuff out there for all to see--about how long she's gone without sex, how she poops in the woods, showers in the open and sleeps naked with the furry male in her life, it's no wonder she gets off-colored reactions. When you brag about a dog being the most important male figure in your life, better than a husband, you run the risk of being compared with the guy who got arrested for having sex with a shetland pony. When you open the barn door don't be surprised at who walks through.

She wants to pick and chose privacy and have everyone reading her posts to turn a blind eye to the inconsistencies of her crass, boarish writings. But, we do not have amneisa. We do not forget from day-to-day or week-to-week what she has printed.

She can't claim to be a feral, badass, viking, she wolf living the single life on the side of a mountain and then turn around and claim to be scared, sleepless with fear, curled up in a ball of panic and NOT get called out on it.

And, if she doesn't want people to comment on it don't print it.

She clearly has no idea who or what she is, and is desparately trying to figure it out. But, throwing stuff into the web-osphere to see what sticks will not help her find herself, no matter how many personas she tries on.

Also, not surprised about her bowing out of the marathon. I never thought she had the stick-to-it-ness. If it really was a goal of her's or she was committed to it because it was a charitable event she could always walk it just to participate. But, I have to say I find it very curious that she has ridden, swam, hawked, chored, gone to town and who knows what else over the past week and has NEVER mentioned one thing about an injury...until now. Me thinks she is so afraid of failure that she pulls out of a lot of stuff where she can be seen. I noticed this in her posts long ago about the dog trials, when she showed up like she knew everything about herding dogs and got her hat handed to her. Arrogance never makes a good first impression. I see people like her in the livestock business ALL the time. We refer to them as big hat, no cattle.

    3. I wonder why so many of her usual offerings have gone by the wayside, like the workshops, Antlerstock, and her front yard w/Lucas cameos, boring as bricks, vlogs. Such a shame to imagine not being offered yet another season of staring at some hard-working person's wood-cutting efforts rotting out by the road again, through weeks of rain. And missing out on hearing myself shriek: What is WRONG with you?! And WHY do you keep standing in front of your huge pile of shame???! Were you not desperate to have someone set you up with wood? Get in the Sam Hill out of the elements! What IS wrong with you?

My guess is she just finally couldn't be bothered with the hassle of planning stuff and is pretty much over her whole pretend homesteader shtick. Who wants to quasi-cleanup a pretend farm even the pretend farmer doesn't care about pretending to actually care about?

Also, she had a bit of prize/loan money scamming to tide her over the summer, and summer is for playing, after all, not hustling for funds to supplement the work of winter prep.

Otherwise, I think even JW is kinda over CAF. As unpleasant as it is to know about her I imagine being her is, at the heart of it all, a huge, depressing drag.

The past six months or so has been a steady slide into the depths of alcoholism, insanity...or both.

    1. I agree her writing does reflect something is going on with her mental state. That dark horse post made absolutely no sense. I don't know that I'd go as far as to say she was extremely talented, but she did did books published and, to the extent of her limited knowledge about the topic of homesteading, they did make sense. Now? Not at all. I fear a crash is near.

I would bet money that if you were to see Jenna out and about today, there would be no sign or symptoms of a twisted ankle or nail wound, because none of those things happened. She's just backing out of the marathon, like she backs out of everything else.

  10. I think she's been lying all this time about all the hundreds and thousands of miles she has been running. Her times sound pretty pathetic, as pointed out by several runners. She had to fake this injury thing because otherwise her true condition and lack of true fitness would be reveled. Now she has all these molly coddlers telling her to take it easy and rest for her farm's sake and so on and so on... kaching!!! Out of the loop for the marathon fail, and into the money from the "awwwww, Poor Jenna can't do her dream life!"

  12. See, this is why I can't turn off the Jenna Show. It's just too interesting. I agree with the poster above that fear of failure probably has played a big role in Jenna's decision. Add to that, if Jenna ran in the marathon, she'd just be one of the crowd, nobody special, just another runner. Whereas *training* for a marathon gave her an opportunity to write about the joys of running and getting in shape and pushing herself ... She got to add "Runner" to her long list of identifiers.

Jenna gets enthusiastic about different pursuits and drops them all the time. She's all-falconry all the time, and then suddenly not a word about falconry. She's running, she's training hard, the big race is coming up ... and then nothing. To be honest, I don't think there's anything wrong with that (until you start collecting money from strangers to enjoy your short-lived pursuits). Interests can be seasonal or just short-lived. To me, what fascinating is that whatever interest Jenna adopts, she suddenly *is* that thing--the Runner, the Farmer, the Falconer, the Archer.

Even more interesting, with the exception of the Heathen group, she never seems to join in community with others who share her interests (or if she does, she never reports on it).

  13. As a person with ADD, I am all too familiar with this. It's difficult to focus, but when something captures our interest we hyper focus. It's an obsession to learn as much as we can about it and immerse ourselves in it..until something else catches our eye. In the meantime chores and responsibilities fall by the wayside until they hit crisis mode.
I have worked so hard to overcome most of the symptoms of ADD. It can be done but it takes being honest with yourself, and daily hard work to override ADD behavior. I have to constantly re-steer my behavior.
Jenna is nowhere close to having any self awareness. She thinks she deserves to do (or not do) whatever she wants whenever she wants. She'll continue to flit from one hobby to another. Chores will continue to be avoided.
I don't know how she can possibly be happy in a life filled with instability and crisis. She's probably never lived any other way/never tried to better herself.

  14. If someone wants to file a Freedom of Information Act request on Anna Kendrick, you can fill out this form

    https://www.doi.gov/foia/foia-request-form

If Anna Kendrick died in her care or escaped, she is required to report that to the US Fish and Wildlife Service. They keep track of all the birds, but the permits for Falconry are controlled by the state.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. But you're assuming she reported the death, I mean fly away if the bird. She does not possess the integrity to report that. What she does possess is the ability to lie about what happened and not report it.

If you tell the story enough times you reframe YOUR reality, but not the facts.

Anyway I doubt there is a report. I'm sure she even told her mentor the lie because as she has indicated he was a stickler for doing things right.

      Delete
    2. She may have lied to the mentor, but she's required to file a report if what ever happens to the bird - death, rerelease, etc.

If someone could prove she took a hawk and didn't report any of it? I think US fish and wildlife would like to know about that. ;)

      Delete
    3. That's must be why she won't directly answer questions about what happened to her previous captures.
I bet Anna Kendrick would love to hear about a hawk named after her who met an early demise at Jenna Woginrich's hand.
      Why that's an outrage!

  16. And tonight.... Mom weighs in again:

Jenna: : "I began to realize how important it was to be an enthusiast in life. He taught me that if you are interested in something, no matter what it is, go at it at full speed ahead. Embrace it with both arms, hug it, love it and above all become passionate about it. Lukewarm is no good. Hot is no good either. White hot and passionate is the only thing to be."

Patricia Yanzsa Woginrich: But don't forget the people you left behind. You were a part of their dreams and their enthusiasm.

  21. I think she might have ADD as was pointed out above. Which is fine I don't care just stop writing about things like you either were the first to discover them or nobody has done them like you before nobody faster or stronger or smarter. I have never read another author that can make the most mundane tasks like giving animals water seem like a herculean task that only she could do. She makes it seem like she should get a nobel prize for making a pot of freaking coffee. And IMO she used to be a pretty good writer there were a few posts in the old days which were magic but lately shes not making much sense or if she is making some sense its mostly a big dose of her slapping herself on the back. And how does she think she is going to make the jump from frumpy homesteader to a twitter superstar with Hollywood friends giving out make up tips and chatting about the lastest hip show to binge watch. I know its been pointed out time and time again but how do you run a small farm even as small as hers and watch that much TV? There just isn't enough time in the day so I guess the answer is you don't.

    ReplyDelete
  22. IMO she's off of some sort of medication that she needs or she is drinking throughout the day.
There is most definitely a difference between her current writing and her past writing. Her current writing is sub par to say the very least. Her thoughts are erratic and it shows in her work.

  23. I've casually followed Jenna's blog for years. I want to live the life she's pretending to live (small, sustainable farm, run by just me, in the northeast), and so I stumbled upon her blog. It quickly became clear that she was more of a model of what not to do, and that she'd done no financial planning (business plan, necessary savings, accounting for startup and learning curve expenses, etc), and wanted everyone else to finance this mistake. I read the blog for years, from a desk in a 9-5 office job, hoping that she'd fail, because it would be so incredibly unfair for her to get random people to fund her dream while I was stuck in a job trying to do the same thing the right way. It drove me nuts that she wasted a beautiful opportunity - a job that paid the bills, and was close enough to her farm that she could have sheep and a dog and land, that she could have kept while figuring out the whole farming thing - and she just decided to throw it away.

Now, I've got savings and a business plan, my land in the northeast, have switched to part-time work, and am in the process of creating my own One Woman Farm (although mine has good fencing). And when I read Jenna's blog now, I can't help feeling smug. Sure, she still has her land, but she sounds stressed and unhappy, living donation-to-donation, while I have all the things she has, but by waiting a few years, don't have any of the financial stress. It's nice to see the posts here and realize that my reactions aren't unique to me. Jenna encourages folks to follow her example, which I think is a terrible idea; providing a countervailing opinion is a valuable service, which I'm glad this blog provides.
