Jenna Calling for Logo Reviews

She did this several months ago and it resulted in nothing. She probably didn't get enough to further her cause.

90 comments:

  1. She posted it around 4pm and so far only 4 people have posted positive reviews. Well that says it all right there. Hahahahaha

  2. More lousy logos for sale. Hold the presses, people!

  3. My guess is that as she puts herself out for some of these Twitter requests, they ask for a website and she gives them her blog. Then they don't want to spend their time digging and tell her so. - OR - She's been reading this blog again. Hi Jenna!

  4. My honest review of logos by Jenna Woginrich of Cold Antler farm. I responded to a "fire sale" for logos that would start to be designed 2 months for the time of the announcement. I needed a new logo and wanted to support a small woman owned business, so I contacted Jenna Woginrich for a quote. Everything was done over Facebook messenger and I never received a proper quote, actual start date, and a request to pay the full amount via the donate button on her blog. This should have clued me in, but I was stupid and complied. Two months go by, no follow up messenger to talk about what I am looking for in design or any thumbnails to see what direction the design was headed. After 10 weeks, I send a messenger convo to Jenna Woginrich asking where I am in the queue. She responds that I will have something to look at by the end of the weekend. Another month passes and nothing. I finally have to call her out publicly to get a logo. I'm using it, but it isn't anything special. I did get what I paid for, just not in the allocated time nor in a professional manner.

    1. This is valuable information for anyone considering buying a logo from JW. I hope you post a comment/review on her Facebook page!

    2. I also responded to a fire sale for logos a while back. I paid through the "donate" button on her website with no contract or real quote. I'd followed her since she lived in Idaho, so I trusted her. (SO NAIVE). She got back to me over a month later and asked if I was still interested....um, I paid you, right? She commenced work on it a couple weeks later and it was done within a week, after a few times back and forth. I described in detail what I wanted, and she completed it. It's a little different than the typical animal silhouette + halloween font/black and white logo that she does, and thankfully because it's a little off genre for her, she doesn't use it as an example. (If she did, I would ask her not to, as I don't want my company to be associated with her). It was that whole odd experience that made me come looking for the "haters" she always referred to, and after I found the previous Cold Antler Sham website, I thanked my lucky stars I even got *anything* back seeing that she's ripped off countless people. I'm not connected to her on FB, or social media. I can barely read her blog anymore (subscribed via RSS), it's just gone completely off the rails. It's so clear that she has some sort of personality disorder.

My "company" is a small side gig and the logo works fine for what I need it for now. I will eventually use something else.

      Signed,

    3. Jenna designed a logo for me last summer. Super happy with the final results. The problem was getting there. After hearing nothing for a month after I paid I emailed her and got quite the snappy email back telling me to be patient and that she told me she would be starting on X date. Odd, I didn't have that email. Anytime I wanted an update on something I had to reach out to her for status. My favorite is when she'd cut out part of the email thread to make it look like she was on track. Pretty impressive...except email doesn't work that way.

  5. I commissioned a photography watermark from her before she got really lax on her turn around. It honestly would have been better for me to just purchase the software and make my own. What I got from her was so rudimentary and amateur that I didn't even use it on my photos. At the time I was a supporter of hers so chalked the cost up to helping out a freelancer. Now I shake my head. I still have the files, but only because I paid for them. I really need to get rid of them, though.

  6. Did her copy of Photoshop or Illustrator come without color capabilities? EVERY logo she designs is black and white and uses some strange Halloween font. Drag and drop the animal of your choice, also black and white. It seems (based on what has been "reviewed" so far), she displays no variety, no attention to the look & feel of the customer's actual business and brand. Maybe her actual "portfolio" will be different.

  7. One day about a year ago I was so bored, so I decided to look up all the logos Jenna has posted. It was easy to find the business, but 99% of them were using a different logo or no logo at all. I only found one business that was using Jenna's logo.

SO. Either she's full of shit that she's actually selling logos to real customers and is making all this up, or they are real customers who are actively not using what she made for them.

  8. Why does she feel the need to post bloody/graphic pics every time she slaughters something? It's like she's deliberately trying to be provocative. Everything's a display for her.

    1. I'm still recovering from her last bloody pig organs on truck hood diorama, last fall I suppose. How I hate her f-u prissy poodles - I'm a bad-ass, hawk-toting woodsman who KNOWS where her goddam meat comes from - persona.

I assume she just had the pigs dispatched and gee, what a coincidence that Mama W is about to arrive. Surely she'll leave a pile of entrails or other evidence of her productive animal husbandry laying about, not to be missed. Screw you, mom, if you think I'm not a farmer.

She quite adores sticking it to people. It's a personality trait I find abhorrent.

      Delete
    2. That's what I think is so off-putting about the pics-- it's meant to be a statement about her-- how real her life is, with all these bloody dead animals in the yard. "See, office people? This is what a bad ass looks like." And then the empty platitudes about her gratitude for the animal's sacrifice yada yada yada. She should show gratitude by treating them well in life-- which means caring for them when they're ill, keeping them out of the road, ending their suffering when they are too far gone to save etc. I'll never forget her saying something along the lines of "putting the laughter back in slaughter". Oof. Maybe let's not.

  9. I still dont understand why she doesnt do anything professionally? I mean if you are going to make a living doing graphics and then start a freaking company under the CAF banner and create a website. I suggested this to her a few weeks ago and the answer was per usual nada. She loves to talk about herself but she hates anyone giving her suggestions even if they are good ones. Why because our special snowflake doesnt need anyones stinking help she has it all figured out on her own.

    1. I think it boils down to her not actually wanting to have a design business-- that's work. It was just something quick and easy to make a buck, she never intended it to be a major income source. In Jenna World, she's always just moments away from the book deal that will change everything. When she runs the logo sales, it gives her an opportunity to signal her latest need ie firewood (14 inch to fit her stove hint, hint). She might sell a logo. Cool, a couple hours of work while she watches Chelsea and done. Or someone might think "I don't need a logo but I can flip Jenna a couple bucks for the firewood effort". Nice! OR someone out there with wood might actually bring her a load. This has actually happened. I believe she gave the guy a couple jars of jam as a thank you. Jenna's an expert at flip flopping from damsel in distress to badass warrior princess depending on what the occasion calls for.

    2. You are so right Anon 12:17. She does flip flop from the scared, wolves at the door, damsel in distress to the badass warrior princess who is doing everything all alone on this mountain in the middle of nowhere (yeah, right) depending on what suits her needs. I wonder if she even has an actual personality under all that fake bullshit that she portrays non-stop. We can predict which personality will rear it's head depending on the season. It is winter and she needs wood, hay, etc. so right now, it's the damsel in distress routine. And her idiot followers buy this garbage hook, line, and sinker. Fools.

    1. Wow, cool, her motto and the main m.o. of her life.

Maybe, during the mean, cold winter upcoming if she needs a break from screens and feels "crafty" - if she's ever experienced a moment of feeling that which I doubt, though I think she did once knit a hat (not that we all need to be into making stuff, of course)- she can get cozy by the fire and work on a cross stitch plaque.

Then, hopefully, she'd be cluelessly dumb enough - totally missing the shameful irony - to hang it so it can't be missed in one of the two main shots of her place she chooses to bless CAF readers with.

    1. The only type of farmer/homesteader I can respect is the ones who are responsible and respectable of their land, and their animals when living and also at their deaths. This year I took the time to watch 6 well-known farming documentaries, I also follow blogs like The Elliott Homestead, Sylvia Jorrins farm stories, SouleMama, Prairie Homestead and the Homesteading Hippy to name a few. I also have a friend that is a local butcher and my brother-in -law does all the butchering for our family. Not one of these people or documentaries showed any animal in a disrespectful light. The animals that feed the farms and homesteads I read about and watch do not show the animal as a pile of offal. The animal is grown and cared for so that it can feed a family, or neighbors or a community. It's not pictured as a gory side show with a trickle of blog hanging upside down and headlines bloody this or bloody that. She has no respect for anything. She never has for as far back as her blog goes. She does things in the media for attention- good or bad, to draw attention- good or bad, for good or bad responses and for good and bad reactions. Because, she isn't here to please anyone at all ever besides herself. She gets off on being an a**hole. It releases all her angst and anger to treat everyone and everything with disregard. If you took away all the documented by her evidence of neglect, poor animal husbandry, poor land management all well documented on her blog and FB. If you took away the fact she quit her job after securing a loan for CAF or the fact that for almost 5 years her income has been e-begging. Or took away all the locals opinions or experiences with her first hand. If you took away the fact there are real people who have been ripped off by her that have no recourse to get their product or $ back. If you took away Birchthorn and all 244 backers and almost $16,000 stolen 2 years ago, you'd still have a sad, pathetic, lying, passive aggressive bitter and hateful person named Jenna Woginrich standing there.

    2. I agree completely! Some very good friends of mine are small scale, grass-fed beef farmers and although they do the slaughter and butchering themselves, and I might add have done so for more than a decade, they do not revel in it. They sure as hell don't announce it to the world like, "Look at us! We killed us a farm animal! Aren't we just the coolest ever!?! Here are some bloody pics in a pathetic bid to shock you." No, they give the animal's death and sacrifice the respect that it deserves. The fact that Jenna likes to post photos of her animal's slaughter makes me sick. Not the pictures mind you as I have assisted my rancher friends many times and I know exactly what is involved, but the fact that she uses these pictures like a dog and pony show. I am surprised she doesn't pose next to the slaughtered animals like a fisherman posing with his catch while she sports that ridiculous smirk on her face.

      Delete
    3. She not only posts slaughter pics to try give herself cool farmer points, she also does it because she does so little actual farming of any kind that she has to take the opportunity for pictures when she can. After all, she has to show her dimwitted followers something to get their sorely misplaced accolades.

    4. I'm anon 12:30 and I meant to add- I've seen pictures of butchered animals, I've even watched videos bloggers put up. I've been a part of the butchering process here at home for many years. It's a reality of living on a farm and raising your own meat. So I'm not nor have I ever been opposed to farmers/ homesteaders showing pictures of when the animal is being processed.

JW lives in a fantasy world where she imagines herself killing a wild beast and biting the head off it, while smearing blood all over herself. Instead she hires a butcher and then stalks around looking for repulsive shots that play in to her crazy living like fantasy mindset.

She is not connected to her animals. She has no connection. She buys chicken, pork and beef from local food stands. I doubt very much, nowadays, that she eats meat from CAF. She doesn't care about her livestock when they are alive. She has never provided proper shelter, diet or fencing since she bought CAF. Every year she loses more in lambing. She has no connection to raising and caring for them so when they are slaughtered they are just a carcass. The meat is sold to feed the addictions she will maintain all winter long- booze, WOW, HULU, Reddit, new jeans, t-shirts and fancy coffee. She's not scrappy, she's crude and trashy.

The fact that she needs a nap after this is a pretty big indicator that she's not normally doing anything too heavy duty. Unless she says otherwise, she probably hired Stratton's to come and slaughter the sheep. They aren't butchering them there-- basically just killing them and skinning them. Patty was helping today as well. I'm always kind of amazed at what she considers to be a big day-- it's like she's totally unaware of what a normal farmer's day might entail. Dunno, she always comes across as really low energy.

Also, what the hell is she talking about, the fleeces are in Patty's barn "to thresh"??

    1. *shrug* I have no idea. Thresh has always referred to processing grains, as far as I know. I think she's making up definitions for words.

      Delete
    2. Unreal. Isn't threshing what you do with harvested grain to separate the, um, probably seed from the..stalk? Before machines, I think the sheaves of wheat, maybe other grains as well - were slapped on barn floors then called the threshing floor. And/or there were hand implements called threshers used before machinery. I just concocted that from vague memories of reading 19th century homesteading diaries. I should have looked it up before I started typing.

I'd guess she is confusing "threshing" with FLENSING or fletching, a term used by Aleutians and other native groups to describe scraping the flesh and blubber off whale and seal skins.

Dodo. Right, right, slip of the tongue, honest mistake, whatever. We are so done with you, Jenna.

      Delete
    3. Oh, I see what she did. She thinks she's clever and witty because it's Patty's threshing barn.

      Delete
    4. A thresher is a person who is threshes or takes part in seasonal threshing. Threshing loosens the edible part of grain. While most people remember threshing happening in fields, much threshing was done by beating the grain against a threshing floor-outside flat surface or smooth floor inside made of earth or wood.

To be less confusing, and in my opinion more accurate and farm related, she could have said in the bay of the barn. Where most threshing floors were found.

      Delete
    5. Her use of the word "thresh" was completely unnecessary at any rate. Lol

    6. I agree with you 100% Becca. I just wanted to post the entire proper usage of the word, and note per usual she isn't at all familiar with farm terminology..

  20. What makes me sick is that she sold $600 of stuff off each sheep. $200 a half for the meat and then $200 for a fleece. Wha??? For 40-50 pounds of meat (if they are lucky??) $400? Really? Those sheep are not particularly meat sheep, rather a dual breed... and are they old enough? She always does her animals in early. Hogs especially. Those sheep were born around May, right? Lamb is a sheep under one year but usually people will grown them out to pretty close to a year so you can get a good hanging weight on them. Those lambs were probably under 5 months old. What a waste... And yeah, I raise sheep. One of those farmers that she likes to say we know nothing about something we have been doing. SMH....

    1. Wow, whoever bought those is TRULY clueless and has obviously never bought meat that way before! Ridiculously high prices, as usual. She way overvalues her stuff and I can't believe she find anyone to pay it.

    2. I was stunned that the buyers of a half lamb woukd only get 25-30 pounds of meat. That tells me right there that she's butcher at a low weight.

But then after 40 years of raising sheep and butchering one every year for our freezer I got in the habit of feeding them out to 150 pounds so I coukd get good sized chops and about 70 pounds of meat for the year.

Wonder if she has even calculate the cutting ratio on the lambs she sells.

      Delete
    3. You're kidding right? We haven't seen her calculate costs, ratios, or anything for that matter. She comes up with stuff off the cuff. WHY can't other people see it? I am amazed!

but my own lamb is 10 dollars a pound finished and that is the local price for my area

  22. I raise sheep and I guarantee those lambs were tiny when she had them processed. There's no way they were a decent size on the crap feed they get. I doubt each lamb will yield more than 40 lbs of meat, at the most. So someone was stupid enough to pay $200 for 20 lbs of meat???

    1. Wait until they pick it up and realize how little their $200 bought! Should be interesting.

  23. I bought a left over county fair lamb last year for $300 and got about 70+ pounds of meat. Her lamb sales are a rip off if she's charging $200 for half a lamb that only produces 20-25 pounds of meat. And who knows about the quality? I'm sure she does not pride herself on producing a quality product.

  27. I guess the information put forward by her earlier in August and the information lately just doesn't add up. Mid-August she was selling a starter flock at the same time she was also talking about butchering the ram lambs from this past spring births. All total I believe 6 lambs were born, and there was a wether, the 2 Patty sold/gave her, an older ewe and a ram. So 11 sheep in the herd total which were just recently counted and featured in the pasture photo. Butchering day 4 were processed- each half $200.00 and each fleece which could not have been very large also $200.00. That's $600.00 a lamb x 4= $2400 less butchering costs yesterday or whatever day this week it was. Why still the fire sale? That's at least two mortgage payments and she claims she only needs the chimney cleaned and wood. I called a retired chimney sweep in Washington County and he charges a flat $125 for a chimney/house like hers. A cord of wood costs roughly $200.00 but if you order a stove cord- measuring 12"-14" a piece and stacked in a 4 x 8 pile it can be as low as $100-150.00.

My guess is she is per usual 2 months or more behind in her mortgage. So maybe she took the entire proceeds from the sheep and applied is as she usually says she does. I still cannot understand why buying the wood and getting the chimney swept would require a fire sale. And if so has she really not sold 2-3 logos in the full 45 days she has been running this fire sale? Also what will happen to the starter herd of sheep she tried to sell. As of a few days ago they were still there. Did some of them end up getting butchered?

It's funny how she was going to update her blog every day with ALL the work she is doing for winter- 3 days ago there was almost no update except she'll be back later to update. Yesterday same thing. Today- fixing fences she will be back later to update. Ya we get it Jenna you have no winter prep and you have no chores and you have nothing absolutely whatsoever to post on your blog on farming. I think more than ever most of her readers get it. Take Ma W up on whatever she offers and move back to the city. Give Merlin to someone who cares before bad winter 2016-17 hits.

There are a number of seriously toxic, manipulative disorders running around out there that deserve being torn to pieces at every opportunity until the person finally at least agrees they may have a problem. There have been a couple suggestions bandied about as to what illness JW may experience (I almost said suffer from, but she really doesn't care so she's not suffering).

I've seen one post besides her fire sales in almost two weeks that was about her day. Yes plans do change, that's why one shouldn't lead an audience to believe they can post 30 days non-stop about farming. I've been following her blog for years and I wouldn't call what she does farming at all. In reference to calling her mentally ill. I've never called her mentally ill, why did you say that? How do you know she stopped Antlerstock? And what videos are you talking about? She hasn't had a vlog for months. My post was curious about the rest of her herd and what will become of them. My post also had references about prices in the area for services she is needing. She reads this blog, so now she knows. Smh it's so irritating when you ask a question or ponder something or talk out loud on topic on this thread and someone else posts in reply, not answering or commiserating, but instead judging and scolding.

  29. Oh, be still her heart!! Surely Jenna's narcissistic little mind will conclude that she is 100% responsible for the adjective in the title Anna Kendrick's about to be released book. The entire title, actually, is a perfect mash-up of our snowflake!

Maybe Anna will send her a signed copy! Or, holy shit, maybe she has dedicated the book to her (or at least given her credit in the Forward for the inspiration for its title)! And, after all, JW did name her dear-departed (lost? killed? maimed by the dogs?) hawk after her! And let Anna know. And Anna probably has been reading the blog daily since then of course. And saw the(damn)word scrappy hundreds of times and realized how well it worked to describe her very own self. And scrappy is also such a darn scrappy word. It's all a perfect circle of love, admiration, connection, and good karma manifesting. Jenna relies on luck a bunch but clearly no luck involved here, just mutual positive regard and snowflakivity.

I started to browse Memoirs on Amazon and it immediately popped up.

What a freaky (there are no coincidences)riot! But it will surely serve to swell Jenna's already out-sized self-regard and further make her imagine she's about to soar off into the big-time of something of other. Her HERO and love thought of HER when naming her book, uh ma ga.

For all I know Jenna has already tweeted breathlessly about this but I've been staying away from her twitter for a while; if I never see her dirty little staged house again - and I'm avoiding the awful slaughter pics I know are there - I'll feel more peaceful.

(link so long an messy looking I'm just skipping it here)

Apologies for being crazy breathless myself about this to the tune of many hundreds of words. Wish I could have just written "check out A. Kendrick's new book" and left it at that. Verbosity is one of my more annoying characteristics and gets out of control on this blog.

  30. Who else here contacts celebrities on a regular basis? Yeah, I didn't think so...

"@joshuahorowitz My parents found this in their attic and don't want it. I instantly thought of you - Want it!? Can I send it to your office?"

  31. She tweets at John Krasinski like she has a personal connection with him and the Mrs. I mean, is she ok? Increasingly, I find myself just feeling sad for her. She seems to be sinking further into a fantasy world of one-sided celeb friendships.

@johnkrasinski Please tell your wife how FLOORED I was with her performance in GotT! I white-knuckled the theater seat I was on the edge of!

@johnkrasinski I would tell her myself but I don't think she's on twitter... Fucking killing it, Emily! Such strength.

  32. Its weird, right? Is she ok? I mean, seriously. Tweeting to celebrities like you are friends. Is that normal?

  33. Well it's pretty obvious her next hawk will be named Emily Blunt lol

Hope her Aya Cash hawk is still alive-haven't heard a thing about her in a while.

  34. Re: tweeting celebrities. I think she is pitching balls to the universe and hoping one will come back.

  35. Place your wagers on how many times Jenna is going to say "wolves at the door" during her parents' visit.

  37. Just saw the tweet on her feed responding to someone mentioning this site to the LA graphic artist Jenna was tweeting with. HaHaHaHa! Love, Love, Love!

  38. Sounds good, but I just don't "get" Twitter. I cannot find any LA artist she was tweeting with, nor any responses. Help.

    2. Hey, JW! BIG CLUE "Anyone know of any WoC graphic designers?"

HELLOOOOOO You are not a woman of color! Obviously, you cannot follow rudimentary instructions or comprehend that some messages are targeted to a certain audience. Said audience (WoC) does NOT include you. OMG the twitter poster was right. Chutzpah, indeed. How dare you horn in and try to elbow out a WoC for that job. Sickening.

    3. I'm the one who wrote the tweet, and it won't be deleted. I hope that it leads other people to this site, and the truth about Jenna Woginrich and her unscrupulous lifestyle. I was also stunned that she'd try to take a gig away from a WoC. What a self-entitled twit.

  39. Anon 3:51 - This is not a hate blog. You may be surprised but this blog is comprised of Jenna fans. Disillusioned ones. We are people who have bought her books, joined her CSAs, attended her workshops, followed her blog, admired her, sent her donations, bought stuff from her. She has done this - she has turned a lot of her fans against her.
