Jenna Has Enough of Her Own Problems

She can't handle her own life....what makes anyone think she can handle anyone else's. She needs to back away from the political stuff. Especially at this point. The election is over. It didn't go her way. There is not one thing she can do about it at this point. She is just one insignificant fly speck in the world...no one cares.

  1. I second what you wrote, thanks. She's no political pundit, and should STFU.

  3. She's making hay out of this. She can't even write about the election and the aftermath without signaling her receptivity to handouts. I have zero respect for her, she's a crass opportunist who always puts herself first.

    From the blog:
    "
You need money to run a farm and keep a house from falling apart. A lot of money" (that last is in italics, no less)

Then today: "He's a nubian cross and ready for pickup soon as I gather the funds to purchase him."

    And it's working!

From a retiree living on a small income:
"What I can do is send a small donation to you to help you purchase that buck."

    And another:
"I will send a donation for your buck as well."

Lin-Manuel's father is a die hard Sound of Music fan and HIRED a film crew to make this family video of them doing bits from the sound of music. This is real."

So what if 14 Puerto Ricans went to Europe? Very weird how she mentions it specifically-- what's she driving at?

  9. I find it rather amusing, all these mind readers that are now saying how it will be with President Elect Trump at the helm. They seem to know everything and how it will affect everyone so badly.

Where were they before the election? If they are so astute, why weren't they out beating the bush and encouraging everyone to vote and all that?

Jenna is just making me sick. She embodies everything that so many Americans are just tired of. Entitled, ME ME ME brats with overly sensitive feelings, potty mouths and IN-tolerance for anyone who doesn't mollycoddle them for their special snowflakeness.

Here's an observation, Jenna: Life doesn't always go the way you want it too. This isn't what happened at all. She very specifically asked people who voted third party to get off her feed-- twice. She also posted someone's else weak sauce twitter rant which blamed rural people for being racist-- this rightfully offended some people but Jenna didn't give a shit. Furthermore, like the big fat toddler she is, she put out a PSA that people shouldn't follow her posts if they don't like her views....so really, she's the one leading the unfriending/unfollowing offensive here not anyone else. I didn't see a single person say they wouldn't follow her because of her Hillary vote.

  20. Her divisive and accusatory political demands this week turned me away. I was the only one who publicly, accurately, fairly posted facts *in her defense* during the Wool CSA / refund matter. I was a paying customer - not an anonymous internet facade.

She demanded that anyone who cast a third party vote remove themselves from her Facebook network. Well... Okay then... So I did. I wrote a short but polite comment on her blog - she never published it. I signed my own name, I did not hide or make things up. The fact that my comment was not posted surprised and insulted me so much, I felt the odd inclination to seek out this blog. Because of my convictions, my deeply important, private and personal vote, I'm no longer welcome?

What kind of business owner draws a line in the sand, and then divides their loyal customers into political groups? Slaps a label on them, tells them to get lost?

How disappointing - how judgemental. This is not a person that I recommend entering into a business transaction with. And I am speaking from personal experience.

  22. Jenna, Jenna. If you think worrying about tomorrow makes you anxious, try giving a thought or two to the rest of your life. Your scrappy barn is going to fall down and eventually your house will too. I've been reading your blog for years and I'm pretty sure that you've not embarked on a single home improvement project since you moved to your mountain. You don't even make a pretense of maintaining what you have. You don't need one book deal, you need a dozen. If you'd taken care of your property I'd suggest you sell it but even though you are careful not to show too much of the place it doesn't take much imagination to realize it's a mess. Since you might not break even on the sale let the bank take your house while it retains a fraction of its value, and save (have someone explain this concept) the mortgage money until they toss you out. Stay the course and you're doomed. I would have been happy to comment on your blog where your fans could applaud my efforts to help you out but you would have denied them the opportunity. My comment would have been moderated out of existance.

  24. Yes, yes, our Jenna is broke. So broke she bought the memoirs of Amy Schumer, Hannah Hart, and Anna Kendrick (print and audio!). So broke she buys the Hamilton Soundtrack and has been to the movies more times in the last couple months than I have in two years. Wasting cash on Ghostbusters is bad enough but Jenna just had to see it twice. There really isn't anything that Jenna will deny herself in spite of supposedly not having enough firewood or hay for the winter months. Poor Jenna, just trying to scrape up enough money for a fire-sale buck...come on, she could have easily bought it herself if she had an ounce of discipline.

Hold the fuck up, JW. Has she forgotten her $3500 fundraiser? The only reason you buy a $35 postcard drawn by someone with less ability than a sixth grader is because it's a donation. 41. It is truly sickening that when she gushes about the glorious freedoms her lifestyle permits while in the next breath shamelessly moans about and pats herself on the back for her noble solo suffering - that she stubbornly refuses to gratefully acknowledge the financial assistance and encouragement she has gotten FOR YEARS from her readers.

One of her ugliest qualities is her infuriating insistence on the fiction that she has struggled all alone to eke out a living.

Her lack of gratitude for the ongoing generosity of strangers is galling and, yes, ugly. She is a snotty, hubris-filled, ingrate who has been given so much more than she will ever deserve - and who gives nothing back to her supporters beyond making sure they know just how much she cares about their encouragement (not a whit) and how responsibly she uses their kind donations (hahaha, what's it to ya?).

If not for readers kicking in for much of the down-payment, possibly all, can't remember, she wouldn't even have been given her wasted faux-farm (or her truck, or Friday - no shelter adoptions for Snowflake - and heaven knows how many mortgage payments, bar tabs, at least several car/truck repair and vet bills, and on through the seasons and crises she plods, words and hand outstretched: poor me).

    1. There was no thank you for anything. The farm she bought, Merlin, Friday, and countless other gifts. All her scrappy own accomplishments. I can't believe I bought in to it.

    2. I should add, after "poor me": but every moment of my struggle, anxiety, angst, yes, even suffering, are worth it; I am special and amazing, and no one has a life as gutsy, interesting, or authentic as mine (especially those coddled and cuddled poodle couples in their non-authentically heated "homes" - and I did it All By My Snowflake Self.

Jenna: how many more times do you have to pen yet another iteration of this wildly over-used anthem before you believe it? You should have either convinced yourself by now or get the Sam Heck out of Jackson, girl, and free your sad, pretty useless and pointless animals on your way out of town.

  42. I'm gazing at my crystal ball and see another fundraiser in Jenna's future. Perhaps a new GoFundMe called "Raise the Roof"?

She's already dropping hints. Poor me, can't afford a new roof. Guess a tarp will have to do.

  43. Okay, I was a deluded fan at one time. I sent her two donations (fell for the vet bill issue). After no acknowledgement but a quick cashing of the checks, I was done. I stopped following all together for a while but recently checked in. It's appalling that nothing has changed. I am a proud Democrat but my candidate lost the election. Period. Nothing I can do until the next campaign and I will respect the new President. Guess I just need to stop reading her blog, the train just barrels onward.....

    1. Thank you for sharing. Jennafans think we are haters, but most of us have been burned by her one way or another. The only way to stop this is to spread the word.

    2. Many people have had the same experience. I can't fathom why she doesn't show any gratitude to the people that help her.....I mean, it's appalling in the first place but isn't it also bad from a scamming standpoint? Meaning people are less likely to donate a second time if their assistance goes unacknowledged and unappreciated?

      Delete
    3. I know her personally, and can attest that she shows no gratitude. It's because she's self-entitled, and feels that the world owes her a living.

  44. Maybe her next book should be, "The Great Birchthorn Heist: How I Stole $15,000 and Got Away With It".

  45. I didn't want to say anything more about her political views, because I also didn't vote for the winner. I voted third party (which makes me public enemy #1) because I believe both major parties have become too extreme. I don't think they're going to care about me.

In one post Jenna says that people talk about her too much, and are too critical of her life choices, and in another she asserts that farmers are not necessarily conservative. She is fortunate that she isn't a real farmer. The real farmers I know are very fiscally conservative, they believe in paying their bills, not spending frivolously and not begging for handouts. They are also the biggest gossips I know, they know everything about the lives and businesses of all the farmers around within a hundred miles or more, and they are very quick to be critical or even condemn farmers who don't keep their word or don't pay their bills.

    1. See, the hate she demonstrates for third party voters is just another example of her ignorance. Of the eligible voting population, third party votes made up less than 2%. But, there was almost 50% that chose not to vote. I'd be more inclined to get angry with those that chose not to vote, honestly, just because there are a huge number of them compared to third party. I don't get her willful ignorance. I just...ugh.

    2. It's not ignorance, Becca, it's intolerance. And, for someone who preaches this live and let live point of very, it's also extremely hypocritical.

But, that's JW, inconsistent in every realm of her life

    3. Which is why she has a rotten reputation around here.

  46. Now she is tweeting swastikas saying that is where we are right now.
Someone tweeted back that Jenna is the one fueling the hate and she needs to stop.

Jenna, you spoiled child of privilege, thinking you have any idea of exactly what the hate of the swastika encompasses is mind blowing. Just when I think you can't sink any lower, you do. You are disgusting.

  47. Friday she's scraping up funds to buy a goat.

Two suckers fall for the bait and send her donations.

Monday she's donating to Planned Parenthood.

    Makes you think.

    5. Absolutely right. It's called financial elder abuse and IT IS A CRIME, at least in CA.

My best friends mom had this happen and now is just one step above bankrupt having fallen fr all the sad stories of people in need.

  48. I guess "stupid" is inherited.

Despite overwhelming evidence from various sources to the contrary, JW's mama argues a point that has been proven over and over again to be false. Then obviously didn't even read the evidence, but held her stance in spite of it. I don't want to get into what the topic was, because THAT is not the point. Just sayin'... If JW inherited her "critical thinking skills" from mom, well...

  49. The good news about her political rants is that she's going to lose a lot of followers. I think even people who agree with her political views will wonder why she doesn't post about homesteading anymore.
Why she doesn't keep a separate personal Facebook/Twitter is beyond me. Stupid.

    1. She's suppose to have a homesteading blog, not I have my panties in a twist blog.

Most homestead blogs I go on have said one word about the election...and that's the way I like it. I go there for homesteading info not political opinion.

    Pork for 2017!
I currently am raising five pigs for prepurchased shares of pork from co-owners of said pigs. They are doing well and should be ready for pickup mid winter. But I am getting ready to plan ahead for spring. If you would like to purchase a quarter, half, or whole pig to be raised in 2017 on this farm - contact me now! My prices are very reasonable, possibly the lowest for farm-raised pork and INCLUDE the professional traveling butcher, smoking, and packaging of meats. References available. Four years of customers. Let me grow you good meat! If you are interested email me at dogsinourparks@gmail.com

    Your consideration is appreciated!

    1. I don't know why anyone would pay 5 or 6 months in advance for a pig. I guess they pay in advance for a CSA but that takes into account the growing season and the farmer's reliability.

  53. I think she lost a ton of followers over the last week. And I live in Cambridge and let me tell you that besides the artists and the healers I have the feeling that the town voted for Trump. You can feel it in the air. I stayed inside for a week oh I am kidding but not really. And she is so out of it in her own bubble that she doesn't even realize that farmers vote conservative especially since the average farmer around here is white and about 50 years old. But now she thinks she is a political genius. Telling people that she can help them find their state reps like the person cant use the same website she was? She really does like to think she is special.

And I shudder to think what is going to happen to her when she ages. I know not everyone is made for the corporate world and I by no means suggest everyone should work there but even if you don't I suggest putting money away for the future anyway you can? She might be able to con people while she is young and hip and convince a publisher that shes viable but what on earth is she going to do when she is old? I am not talking about a sunny retirement in florida but being able to have you hip replaced when you freaking fall off the side of your mountain. She is so caught up in what she calls the romance of her life that she cant see the forest through the trees. She has a house and a barn that are falling apart around her no health insurance no savings and yet she is living my dream life? I don't think so sister I would be able to sleep a wink living your life I would be on so much Xanax I wouldn't be able to function.

    1. We also live locally, and I agree with what you wrote. Her dreary "dream life" sounds like my waking nightmare, too.

    2. I feel like I could have written that comment myself, Anon 6:13. Including the part about her looking up reps for people-- if they can manage to navigate FB, they can find their own reps. Geez.

I honestly would not be surprised if she thinks she's going to hit it big somehow. She's going to be in deep shit if she doesn't, you get the idea things are kind of going to pot now. I know one of her neighbors and they said her place had really gone down hill since she bought it. Houses cost more than just the mortgage. What's she gonna do when she needs a new roof? A new truck? You keep thinking that surely the generosity wells of her readers would run dry but.... And, like you say, the con works as long as she's young and hip. Sorry to say but that window is closing. She won't find returning to work all that easy when she's been out of the loop for 5+ years.

      Delete
    3. She's neither "young nor hip," it's all an illusion.

      Delete
    4. What could be seen by some as Jenna being a "fledgling homesteader" in her 20's which supported the con, isn't so cute, appealing, or more importantly money Grubbing worthy now. As she ages, the scattered life she leads coupled with the poor choices she makes are being seen as bizarre. Time for her to retire the dream life, get a paying job, and face life. First couple of years on her place she shold have replaced roof, insulated, shore up the outbuildings. The wolves are not at the door. The wolves don't care. Now the bank and people owed are another matter that a responsible person would address.
